EXASCEND Element Portable SSD

The EXASCEND Element Portable SSD is designed for creators who demand high performance storage in a compact, mobile form factor. Using USB Type C with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, the Element delivers transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps when connected to a compatible host, enabling fast offloading and smooth workflows even with large video files. The included 20Gbps USB C to USB C and USB A hybrid cable ensures broad compatibility across modern and legacy systems. Purpose built for modern capture workflows, the Element supports direct 4K 60fps ProRes recording on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max as well as compatible Android devices, allowing creators to record high bitrate footage straight to external storage without compromise.

Portability and durability are central to the Element’s design. With its slim and lightweight aluminum enclosure measuring just 69.8 by 45 by 8 millimeters and weighing only 45 grams, it easily fits into any mobile setup. The integrated magnetic mounting system allows the drive to be securely attached to a smartphone or computer, keeping rigs compact and reducing cable clutter during recording. Built for use beyond the studio, the Element is waterproof, dust resistant, weatherproof, impact resistant and X ray safe, offering peace of mind when traveling or working on location. For iPhone based workflows, formatting the drive directly on the device is recommended for optimal compatibility. A slight temperature increase during high data rate recording is considered normal. The 1TB and 2TB models are optimized for stable recording with minimal heat buildup, while the 4TB version may generate more heat due to higher power consumption and benefits from adequate airflow. On iOS devices, storage management should be considered when using the 4TB model, as deleting files directly on the device may be limited once the drive is completely full.
