The Datavideo VP-929 is a compact 4K HDMI repeater designed to extend HDMI signal transmission over longer distances while maintaining high video quality. It provides a simple and cost-effective solution for professional AV installations, live production environments, conference rooms, digital signage applications, and other situations where standard HDMI cable lengths are insufficient.
Supporting HDMI 2.0 connectivity, the VP-929 is capable of extending HDMI signals by an additional 10 metres at resolutions up to 4K and up to 15 metres when transmitting HD video. This allows users to increase cable runs without replacing existing infrastructure or introducing complex signal distribution systems.
The repeater supports video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at frame rates up to 60Hz. With support for bandwidths up to 18 Gbps, HDR video processing, and high-quality digital audio formats including surround sound up to 7.1 channels, the VP-929 is suitable for demanding UHD video applications that require reliable signal integrity.
For added flexibility, the VP-929 can be powered directly from the HDMI signal when used as the first repeater in a signal chain. Additional repeaters can be powered via the integrated Mini USB connection using a standard USB power source or power bank, simplifying installation in locations where dedicated power outlets may not be available.
The unit features integrated cable tie mounting points that allow HDMI cables to be secured using standard zip ties, helping to reduce strain on connectors and improve installation reliability. Multiple VP-929 units can also be cascaded together, enabling transmission distances of up to 60 metres for HD signals.
