This advanced conversion unit is designed to integrate modern high bandwidth SDI infrastructures with established analog systems used throughout broadcast, post production and archival environments. Built to handle everything from SD through full Ultra HD, it automatically detects incoming formats and adapts the output accordingly. This ensures that legacy analog monitors, decks and routing systems remain fully compatible with today’s high resolution workflows without adding unnecessary complexity. The converter maintains pristine signal integrity even when translating between wide color spaces and high bit depths, supporting both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 SDI sampling for consistent accuracy across professional pipelines.

Its analog output stage provides component, composite and Y/C connections, making it suitable for a wide variety of legacy equipment including Betacam SP, VHS decks and older reference monitors. A built in down converter enables Ultra HD sources to be viewed on analog SD or HD displays without external processors. This feature is invaluable for archival transfers, technical monitoring or facilities where hybrid infrastructure is still essential. With support for REC 601 and REC 709 color spaces and high precision analog output, operators can rely on smooth tonal reproduction and consistent color accuracy when working with demanding material.

Audio handling is equally robust. Professional balanced XLR outputs allow the routing of analog audio directly to mixers or monitoring equipment, while an alternate configuration enables the same connectors to deliver timecode when required. Four channels of balanced digital AES/EBU audio are also available, giving facilities the flexibility to work in fully digital or hybrid configurations. Sixteen channels of embedded SDI audio are supported prior to output selection, ensuring compatibility with multichannel workflows.

Operational control is available through mini switches, USB or Ethernet, and remote administration makes it easy to manage multiple converters throughout a facility. Optional front panel controls add an LCD and a rotary adjustment knob for on‑device configuration and confidence monitoring. Reclocking on SDI inputs ensures signal stability, while automatic switching between SD, HD, 2K and 4K formats keeps the workflow seamless. The integrated international AC power supply and PoE+ capability provide installation flexibility across fixed racks, OB vans and portable systems.
