This compact de‑embedding unit is engineered to extract high quality audio from any SD, HD or 3G‑SDI signal, making it a reliable tool for modern broadcast environments that still depend on dedicated audio workflows. It automatically detects incoming SD, HD and level B 3G‑SDI formats, ensuring instant compatibility as formats change within live production chains or post‑production pipelines. This flexibility allows the unit to slot into complex infrastructures without requiring manual adjustments, maintaining a seamless signal path even as workflows shift between different resolutions and frame rates. 
The device outputs up to four channels of balanced analog audio or up to eight channels of AES or EBU digital audio, enabling it to interface directly with professional mixers, monitoring systems, analog decks or digital recorders. Its 48 kHz and 24‑bit television‑standard sampling ensures that the extracted audio maintains broadcast‑grade precision, making it suitable for environments where accurate monitoring and synchronisation are essential. Whether feeding a sound desk, an external meter bridge or dedicated audio processing equipment, the unit preserves the integrity of the original SDI‑embedded audio. 
Video compatibility is extensive, supporting NTSC and PAL in SD, a full range of progressive, interlaced and PsF HD formats up to 1080p60, and 2K DCI formats including 23.98p, 24p and 25p, as well as their PsF counterparts. Its adherence to SMPTE standards such as SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M and 424M level B makes it suitable for integration with professional switchers, routers and SDI distribution systems. Internal reclocking further enhances signal stability by reducing jitter, ensuring robust performance even when feeding long cable runs or older equipment. 
A redundant input is included for automatic failover, protecting the signal path during mission‑critical broadcasts where uninterrupted audio output is mandatory. Configuration is handled through the USB utility software, which also provides firmware updates to maintain long‑term compatibility. Power‑wise, the device ships with a universal 12‑volt international power supply and supports operation from 12 V DC sources, making it ideal for studios, mobile units and international deployments alike. 
With its rugged build, comprehensive audio extraction capabilities and broad SDI format support, this converter provides a robust bridge between embedded SDI audio and traditional or digital audio systems used throughout professional broadcast operations.
