The Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G is a professional capture and playback solution that combines powerful video I/O, live graphics integration and replay functionality in an exceptionally compact design. Developed for Thunderbolt equipped computers, it is ideal for broadcast graphics, live event production, AI powered video processing and instant replay workflows. By connecting through a single Thunderbolt 4 cable, the unit provides both capture and playback while maintaining a streamlined and portable installation. 
Unlike dedicated capture or monitoring interfaces, this model combines input and output capabilities within one device. It features a 12G SDI input alongside multiple 12G SDI outputs, including dedicated fill and key outputs for live graphics production and a separate monitoring output. This configuration allows broadcast quality graphics to be inserted directly into production switchers while maintaining independent program monitoring. 
The compact interface is particularly suited to modern replay applications. Integration with DaVinci Resolve enables live action replay, automatic stinger playback and advanced broadcast graphics workflows. The dedicated fill and key outputs support alpha channel graphics, while the replay functionality allows operators to create professional instant replay packages during live productions. Real time AI image processing workflows are also supported thanks to simultaneous capture and playback capabilities. 
Support extends across SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K DCI standards up to 2160p60. Multi rate 12G SDI connectivity automatically adapts to different production formats, ensuring compatibility with a wide variety of broadcast systems. Professional colour support includes Rec. 601, Rec. 709 and Rec. 2020, while HDR workflows are supported through HLG, PQ and HDR metadata handling. Embedded audio transport supports up to 16 channels on both SDI input and output connections.
Compatibility with macOS, Windows and Linux allows integration into virtually any professional workflow. Popular applications such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer are fully supported. With its unique combination of capture, playback, graphics keying and replay capabilities, this compact device delivers an advanced solution for broadcasters, live production specialists and post production facilities.
