The Blackmagic ATEM Microphone Converter is a high-performance analog-to-digital audio interface designed to expand the audio input capabilities of ATEM switchers via MADI (Multichannel Audio Digital Interface). With four high-fidelity analog inputs, each supporting mic/line level and 48V phantom power, this converter allows seamless integration of additional microphones or external audio mixers into live production workflows.
Each input channel is engineered with eight high dynamic range ADCs working in parallel, delivering an exceptional 131 dB(A) dynamic range and ultra-low noise floor of -129 dBV. This innovative design eliminates the need for traditional analog preamps, avoiding gain step artifacts and ensuring pristine audio quality.
The unit features combo XLR/TRS connectors, a MADI output for embedding audio into ATEM switchers, and a MADI input for daisy-chaining multiple converters, enabling scalable audio expansion. An HDMI monitoring output provides real-time scrolling audio waveforms, while USB and Ethernet ports support remote configuration and firmware updates. The compact, rugged design includes a 12V DC power input, making it ideal for both studio and mobile production environments.
