The Wireless Remote Control Unit (WRCU) is a cutting-edge solution for wireless camera control and shading, designed specifically for Blackmagic Design Ursa Mini, Broadcast, Studio, and Micro Studio cameras. It seamlessly integrates with ATEM switchers, enabling full CCU and tally control without the need for cumbersome cabling.
The WRCU consists of two components: a V-lock transmitter and a V-lock receiver. The transmitter connects to the ATEM via SDI, extracts CCU control data for the selected camera ID, and converts it into BroadcastGear’s proprietary wireless CCU protocol. This data is transmitted over a robust 2.4GHz ISM band with selectable frequencies and 125 channels, ensuring interference-free operation up to 150 meters.
The V-lock receiver mounts directly on the camera, reconverts the signal to Blackmagic’s control protocol, and outputs SDI for return feed control. Both units feature OLED displays for intuitive menu navigation, USB-C ports for firmware updates, and future-ready Ethernet and Hirose connectors. The receiver passes battery power to the camera and includes an internal LED tally indicator plus an external 3.5mm tally output compatible with Datavideo TD-3 lights.
The WRCU delivers unmatched flexibility for live productions where mobility and precision matter most. Note: The system transmits CCU and tally data only, no return video or audio signals.
