Blackmagic DeckLink 8K Pro G2
High‑end 8K PCIe capture and playback card with quad‑link 12G‑SDI and HDMI 2.1, 12‑bit RGB, Rec. 2020, HDR support, up to 120 fps in HD/4K and 60 fps in 8K. Built for advanced cinema, broadcast and VFX workflows.
DeckLink 8K Pro G2 is engineered as a next‑generation capture and playback solution for filmmakers, broadcasters and high‑end post‑production pipelines that demand uncompromising image fidelity and extreme bandwidth. With four bidirectional 12G‑SDI connections and HDMI 2.1 input and output, the card handles every major format from SD and HD through Ultra HD, 4K and full 8K and 8K DCI, offering complete flexibility for modern multi‑standard workflows. Each SDI connection supports single, dual and quad‑link operation in 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 color, enabling precise routing, monitoring, ingest or playout in any direction while supporting both 2D and 3D signals.
The card is built for top‑tier color accuracy, supporting 8‑ and 10‑bit YUV as well as 10‑ and 12‑bit RGB 4:4:4 with full Rec. 2020 coverage, ensuring it meets the stringent requirements of HDR and wide‑gamut deliverables. Frame‑rate performance reaches up to 120 fps in HD and 4K, and up to 60 fps in full 8K, enabling ultra‑smooth motion handling for VFX plates, high‑frame‑rate cinematography and premium live production.
Audio handling is equally advanced. Each SDI connection supports up to 64 channels of embedded audio in 4K and 8K workflows, while HDMI 2.1 supports up to 32 channels over FRL, making the card suitable for immersive audio pipelines and multi‑channel broadcast environments. A Tri‑Sync or Black Burst reference input ensures perfect synchronization in multi‑device setups, and RS‑422 remote control allows integration with professional decks and automation systems.
Designed for reliability and throughput, DeckLink 8K Pro G2 uses PCI Express Gen 3 x8 and requires two PCI slots plus power connection, ensuring enough bandwidth to sustain multi‑stream 8K workflows without compromise. It integrates seamlessly with macOS, Windows and Linux, and ships with an extensive software suite including DaVinci Resolve, Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey and Desktop Video Utility—tools designed to streamline capture, monitoring, real‑time keying and system diagnostics.
Format and codec compatibility are equally extensive. Supported codecs range from industry standards such as ProRes, DNxHR, DNxHD and DPX to camera‑native formats including AVC‑Intra, AVCHD, Canon XF MPEG2, Digital SLR and XDCAM. This flexibility makes DeckLink 8K Pro G2 suitable for editorial, grading, finishing, live broadcast, VFX ingest, LED‑volume playback and on‑set color pipelines. It is also supported by a wide ecosystem of third‑party applications including Nuke, Edius, Catalyst, Wirecast, vMix, OBS, ProPresenter and many others, ensuring smooth integration regardless of workflow scale.
Purpose‑built for the future of cinema and broadcast, DeckLink 8K Pro G2 offers the advanced connectivity, color performance, frame‑rate capability and multi‑channel configurability required for next‑generation high‑resolution, high‑dynamic‑range and high‑frame‑rate production environments.
