De KONA LHE+ is geen instapkaart en biedt een hele reeks professionele functies: 10-bit of 8-bit ongecomprimeerde video, 2-kanaals AES digitale audio en 8-kanaals SDI embedded digitale audio, analoge composiet of s- video- of SD/HD-componentvideo I/O, 2-kanaals gebalanceerde analoge audio I/O en broadcast kwaliteit down-conversie van HD naar SD. De KONA LHe overbrugt de analoge en digitale wereld door I/O voor beide aan te bieden. Flexibiliteit gedefinieerd. 
 
Voor SDI video beschikt de KONA LHE+ over één input en twee outputs en deze kunnen onafhankelijk worden geconfigureerd voor HD of SD. Het biedt één aansluiting voor Genlock input en drie BNC's die kunnen worden geconfigureerd voor analoge video input en output (HD of SD). Een 9-pins connector voor RS-422 beheer is ook inbegrepen. Omdat de KONA LHe analoge input en output van analoge componenten ondersteunt, kunnen apparaten met analoge HD output, zoals HDV decks en zelfs gameconsoles, worden aangesloten op de KONA LHe voor verschillende workflows.

Net als de AJA KONA 3, beschikt de KONA LHE+ over volledige 10-bit, motion-adaptieve HD naar SD down-conversie van broadcast kwaliteit, en automatische HD/SD 12-bit component analoge output. Omdat de conversie van de KONA LHe hardwaregebaseerd is, is deze altijd beschikbaar tijdens opname of afspelen. Outputs kunnen onafhankelijk worden geconfigureerd, waardoor u tegelijkertijd HD en SD output kunt hebben.
